Drafting Sheets · No.15 · Tree of Life
An orange spark draws the Kabbalistic Tree of Life from a TikZ listing, the way it is built with a compass: four circles of one radius, each through the next one's centre, the middle pillar on their centres and the side pillars on their crossings. Then the ten sephirot with their Hebrew names, and the twenty-two paths in the order of Sefer Yetzirah — three mother letters, seven doubles, twelve simples — each letter set on its path. When it is drawn, the lightning flash strikes down from Keter to Malkhut and the serpent climbs back, Tav to Aleph.
Kircher / Golden Dawn
Kircher's Oedipus Aegyptiacus (1652–54): the tree the Golden Dawn took up, its paths numbered 11–32 after the ten sephirot. Mothers, doubles and simples fall where the letters' order puts them.
Hover a sephirah or a path to read what it carries; switch the arrangement and only what differs is drawn again.
